We are Chelsea, Nikki and Megan. Three sisters, originally from Kangaroo Island.

Growing up, Mum and Dad taught us that good hospitality isn’t complicated. It’s cooking for four and somehow feeding eight. Always pulling over for a hitchhiker. Picking fruit from a tree when the owner says, “help yourself”, then returning a few weeks later with a jar of jam.

​

Twelve years ago, with plenty of enthusiasm and very little idea what we were doing, we bought a food truck and launched Cargo Catering Co.

​

It’s been an eventful decade or so since. We’ve dabbled in city cafés, mobile bars and event venues, catered more parties than we could ever count, made plenty of questionable decisions and somehow built a business along the way.

​

In amongst all of that, we also managed to become mothers. With eight kids between us, and Mum, Dad and our uncle all setting up sticks just down the road, ours has become very much a family operation. We couldn’t do what we do without each other — and, frankly, we’re probably too far in now to try.

​

Yonder is the next chapter.

A place for our whole family to come together. A place built around the kind of hospitality we grew up with — generous food, good drinks, people around the table and no great rush to leave.

​

And, of course, a healthy environment for us to exercise our familial trauma by working ourselves to the bone.
